Continuing our series of interviews....next up is the legendary DEV79!!! Philly's finest gives us a look into his world....


WHO ARE YOU?
Me is Dev79...heavy reppin' Philly. I make your body lose control. I play street bass. I get blunted. I fuck bitches make em go ohh ahh.


WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO LATELY?
I been twerkin with a lot of remix action lately...my remix of Kotchy's "Check Out My Keychain" just dropped and my dubplate remix of Raffertie's "Antisocial" is on Starkey's "Stark Bass" mixCD. After takin a breather from DJ'ing so much, for a minute, I'm gettin back into the club thang full swing. Been a few bumpin' times in Philly and NY recently.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE COMING UP?
This Saturday night we doin the Stenchman party in Philly, should be pretty bonkers, lookin forward to that fer sure. If peoples is in the area, def head over and get ya wild on.

My "Hater" version of the Raffertie joint will be hitting wax in June on Seclusiasis. Also gots a bunch of bootlegs brewin for the next two volumes of the Street Bass Anthems series. Remixes for Sonic 86 ft. Syntonics and NoNewYork also slated to damage speakers in the near future. Plus I'm gonna be doing a mixCD for 611 Records, very soon, thats gonna be straight murder. I'm sure theres some other shit but I can't remember.

WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU INTO RIGHT NOW?
I'm a sucka for a ton of bassline...the stuff thats real fucked in the head but still has club sensibilites and vocals, is what gets me jazzed. With what I heard so far, I'm lookin forward to that new Cam'ron album droppin in May, i think killa's ready for a comeback. Dem Get-A-Way Boyz "Imma Gee" is that heat right there, first dirty south song to really move me in a minute. I been listened to a lot of 1xtra web radio lately. Summertime is comin and we all know that means the hottest dancehall reggae of the year is about to pop, I'm on the look out for whats gonna be this year's standout riddim.

WHAT ARE YOU FEELING RIGHT NOW?
Yo I had a almond & taro bubble tea shake the other day and pow, shit was real good. Mix n' match those flavors kids. New sensations.

Laptop stands that look like a girl on all fours. I'm sayin, someone should sponsor me and make me a custom stand like this.

Purple haze + pink pussy = my life.

WHO SHOULD WE WATCH OUT FOR?
Starkey is the champ. Trust it. Been feelin' TRC and Delinquent ("Bigger Than Bassline" is massive) a lot as well as shit from B. Rich, Egyptrixx, Pacheko, and of course serious big up to all Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey fam straight killin it right now - Kotchy, Raffertie, BD1982, DZ, Sonkin, Ghost, and of course El Carnicero. So much fire goin on right now!

Watch out for that swine flu thing thats goin around...shit sounds nasty. And I'm a call it now - watch someone make a cheesy dubstep tune called "Swine Flu" in the next month...
